Breaking-Rue McClanahan Dies
Golden Girl Star Rue McClanahan has died at the age of 76.
She died at 1 am this morning of a massive stroke. She had had a minor stroke earlier this year while recovering from bypass surgery.
Her manager, Barbara Lawrence, said she had her family with her at the time she died.

I always get a bit verklempt when I hear the "Thank you for being a freind" opening credits.....now I'm really going to bawl.
So sad. She brought a lot of joy to a lot of people. But at least now 3 of the Golden Girls are in heaven causing a ruckus.

:( also. I'm surprised she was only 76 because it meant she was really young when she moved into the GG retirement community. I thought she was meant to be grandmotherly, but she was just a little older than my parents.

Damn that Golden Girls Curse.
"Sophia" in 2008, "Dorothy" in 2009 and now "Blanche" in 2010. Somebody please put Betty White in a protective bubble, STAT!
