Kelly Clarkson Drops by for a "Fast Car" Duet with Daughtry in Nashville
After a lackluster season of American Idol, Kelly and Daughtry remind everyone why the show won't die anytime soon.
I am an American Idol fanatic and even my patience was tested with this last season of mediocrity and karaoke blahs. And with Simon Cowell's departure from the show there has been some talk of the show being in danger. What??
Say it isn't so, people! It was just an off season, for crying out loud!!
Thankfully, like manna from a reality TV addict's heaven, this video just surfaced on YouTube of an impromptu duet between Kelly Clarkson and Daughtry at a concert of his in Nashville. They are singing Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car" and, though the guitar is a bit repetitive, the vocals are sweet, the harmonies are ever changing and all great in different ways, and the emotion when they exchange the lines "I could be someone" "be some one"... oh my gah, you are reminded that they were just two hopefuls on a reality TV show not so very long ago. And then my head exploded because I seriously love American Idol and will forever watch it and imagine myself in the shoes of the contestants.
Enjoy!
. . . . .
Bitchin' Amy coulda been a contendah.
