The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth

Freaks_3Even though Freaks and Geeks, one of my favorite shows of all time, lasted only one season back in 1999-2000, many of the cast members are alive and well, and showing up in some excellent movies and TV shows lately.  Judd Apatow, Freaks and Geeks' producer, has gone on to make some of the most hilarious movies of the last few years -- Anchorman, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.  Clearly, there was some talent on that show.

Recognize these kids -- the freaks?  Who ever would have guessed this bunch of high school stoners would grow up to be so successful?  More about them, including photos, after the jump.

These days, you can catch Linda Cardellini and Busy Philipps on ER

Jason Segel is yucking it up on How I Met Your Mother.

James Franco is a big-time movie actor in the Spider-Man movies.  Yummy.

And Seth Rogan (what an incredibly under-rated actor) is starring in Knocked Up after previous roles in The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Anchorman.

The geeks, on the other hand, haven't fared quite as well.

GeeksChild stardom, careers peaking too early, type-casting...blame it on any of those things.  Let's just hope none of these guys turn into the next Danny Bonaduce.

I loved that show, wish they'd release it on dvd. Did ya see the one where "Sam" has to run through the school naked? PRICELESS! I flashback to that everytime I see one of these actors in something else.

The kid who played Bill (the tall geek) is in Knocked Up too!

Also, the show IS available on DVD (thank GAWD!)...

LOVED that show

I loved Freaks and Geeks. It is by far one of the best shows ever written!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Freaks & Geeks. I have the DVD set and it's one of my most prized possessions.

Best line EVER --

Gordon: It's a Parisian nightsuit, in case ya didn't know.

Bill: Oooh la la!

I never watched F&G when it was on, but I've mostly caught up since I bought the dvd's for my boyfriend. And it's so great!! Side note to say we also LOVE Jason Segal (and everyone else) on "How I Met Your Mother."

If you haven't watched Freaks and Geeks, DO IT.
I watched it on DVD a few months ago, and it was amazing.
I said, DO IT!
