Land of the Lost on the Big Screen

Once again, Hollywood is re-packaging my youth and selling it back to me -- this time in the form of a feature film re-make of Land of the Lost.  This is actually GREAT news!  And the best part?  Will Ferrell will play a starring role.  Brad Silberling (Lemony Snicket, City of Angels) will direct, and the show's creators, Sid and Marty Krofft, will be involved with the film as well. Here's the scoop from Reuters:

The Universal Pictures project, which is set to go before cameras in March, follows a disgraced paleontologist, his enthusiastic assistant and a macho tour guide who find themselves in a strange world inhabited by dinosaurs, monkey-people and evil reptilian "Sleestaks" following a disastrous "routine expedition."

I can hardly wait to see what they do with this.  The original show was a Saturday morning obsession for me.  And while I'm a bit sad to think that Holly and her blonde braids will not be a part of the movie, I'm giddy about the possibilities of putting Will Ferrell on screen with a bunch of Sleestaks.

Do you ever wonder what drugs Sid and Marty Krofft were on exactly? I mean, was it just acid? Or a blend?

All Adither

By the pic I thought it was going to be a remake of the Brady Bunch. It totally looks like the episode where they go to the Grand Canyon.

I was just talking about this show the other day! I am totally going to be FIRST IN LINE for tickets. And add Will Ferrell?? So it will be totally nostalgic for me AS WELL AS hilarious? Bonus! LMAO

So is it definite- they've been talking about it for a while.

Also? Have you tried to watch this as a grownup? I can't believe I EVER watched it, even as a kid.

Remember the theme song?
