P Diddy Says He Did Chris Brown and Rihanna "A Favor" By Letting Them Use His Home

Sean_combs This story makes me madder and madder every time a new item about it hits.  The whole Nickelodeon leaving Chris Brown on the ballot of the Kids Choice Awards?  Do they leave all accused felons on the ballot or just men who beat up women?

And now Diddy, Puffy, what the hell is his name, has weighed in to say he "did them a favor" by opening up his home for the Chris Brown and Rihanna reconciliation when he was interviewed on the Ellen Degeneres show yesterday.  He also explained twitter during the interview.  I have no idea how those two things go together.

"It was a dark time for them and I was there as more of a support."  "I'm not immersed in [their situation]. I'm not going to pass judgment on it. I'm going to be there as a friend."

I'm all about being nonjudgmental.  Seriously.  I don't think we should pass judgment on other people.  Unless someone beats the crap out of another human being.  Then I think judgment is the right call.  You want to be a friend?  Tell Chris to get some counseling.  Tell Rihanna to get some counseling and to run as far away from him as humanely possible.  That I think is being a friend.  Giving your home as a love nest to serve as the honeymoon period for the cycle of violence is not.

Diddy was clearly uncomfortable with this line of questioning, especially as Ellen pressed him a little bit.  "It's my house, and I'm allowed to give my house to whoever I want to give my house to," Diddy said on the show. "I don't cast a stone – cast judgment on anybody. So, if friends ask me for a favor, then I'm going to be there for a favor as long as I know the energy of the favor is positive."

Energy is positive?  Like felony assault?  I'd like to see non positive energy.

Plus, Diddy added that he believes it's positive for "two people to sit down and talk about a situation they're in."  Maybe, but is Diddy aware that THERAPISTS DO NOT RECOMMEND joint counseling for domestic violence victims for years.  Because of the power and control dynamic of the relationship.  But sure, let's throw them in a room together and hope he doesn't hit her again.  That's true friendship.

He also cautions to be wary of jumping to conclusions, saying, "We don't know exactly what's going on. There are two young individuals [involved]. We need to pray for them."

But, he told DeGeneres, "I don't think it's right for anybody to hit anybody."

Well good, as long as he got that in.  Because his behavior indicates he does support people hitting other people.  Because that is what he is doing, supporting people hitting other people.

Rihanna, I don't say this very often, but please, please, listen to Oprah.  "If he hit you once, he will hit you again.  Love should not hurt."

Jodi, Chris Brown, not Chris Rock. :P

poor Chris Rock. Now all men with the name Chris are on the defense...

As for Chris BROWN...he needs some serious help and if he really cared for Rihanna he would leave her.

Sorry for the mistake. I wrote that REALLY late last night!

Man, P Diddy Puffy Daddy is an idiot.

That being said, I think one of the most difficult things about domestic violence is helping women who are still in love with or want to be with the abuser. Sure, we can tell them to leave (rightfully so), but what if they don't want to? What do we tell them then? Oprah is right, but how do you make a young woman who thinks she is in love see that? I was just a little younger than her when I was in an abusive relationship, and I truly thought I loved the guy. While it is true that Chris Brown is a piece of shit who beat a woman, what do we say to the woman he hit to make her see that, or make her want to leave him?

Sorry for the rambling comment, that had just been on my mind.

Argh. P. DiddlyPuffWhoever is such a moron.

As serious as this post is, I must admit I got a bit of a chuckle reading the CNN Update at the bottom of the YouTube still of Oprah.

This makes me sick and I think Diddy is a weak-spined little idiot. With far too many stupid names.

I saw this interview and it was SUCH SHIT. I've never liked Diddy or Puffy or whatever the fuck his name is, but he was all into the doublespeak and "Let's all pray for them (and stop asking me about my bad decisions)" until I wanted to scream. And punch him. Ok - NOW I get the whole punching thing!

Joking aside, I think Ellen might have wanted to press him a bit more but she seemed somewhat reluctant to really get down and dirty, which was disappointing.

I am deeply disappointed with Diddy. But not surprised. However I am surprised with Nickelodeon's response. Actually it enrages me. As a mother of both a boy and a girl I would think that a television channel that is there for the support and development of children would support and develop properly. I think we should call for a boycott of this channel until they learn to choose to make better choices.

OK. I went to Nickelodeon to look at the nominees and he was no where to be seen. Perhaps they did take him off. Thank goodness. It was going to be a hard sell to get my kids to stop watching Nick.lol
