Kiefer Sutherland Headbutting Case Going Away

Kiefer_sutherland  I so loved this story, but alas, looks like it is no more.  Kiefer Sutherland and designer Jack McCollough have resolved their differences.  It even looks like the charges will be dropped and Kiefer will live to see another 24 season.

I'm not sure that is a good thing.  I thought this season was terrible.  In fact I never even watched the last 4 episodes.  They are just sitting on my DVR.

But that is so not related to this story.  Kiefer and Jack have (ha!  I just got that!) have kissed and made up.  Their joint statement is after the jump.

"I am sorry about what happened that night and sincerely regret that Mr. McCollough was injured," Sutherland said in a joint statement released to the Associated Press.  McCollough said in the statement: "I appreciate Mr. Sutherland's statement and wish him well."

A spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney's office declined to comment on whether the charges would be dismissed.  All signs point to to the charges being dismissed at the next court date, which is June 22.  Kiefer would then not have to serve any time on his violation of probation.

One wonders exactly what was, um, exchanged for this nice nice outcome?  Or am I the only cynical one?  Kiefer broke his nose and now they are all best buddies and issuing joint press statements?  There is so more to this story.
