Too-Tight Pants Give Us Another Reason To Hate Them: Nerve Damage
I wouldn't tell y'all this if it wasn't true. Seriously, about a week ago, the upper thigh area of my left leg went numb. After poking at it for a while and consulting all my friends, I decided to do the big girl thing and...ignore it completely. It's still there, and I WAS continuing to ignore it, when I stumbled across a story on MSNBC about the exact same problem I had! The numb thigh! Teach me, oh internet, why I can't feel a large part of my leg!!!
Meralgia Paresthetica. Or, in layperson's terms, Your Ass Is Too Big For Those Pants.
Ah. Yes. So it turns out that loads of women are complaining of the exact same symptoms, and the medical explanation states that sometimes too-tight pants compress the nerves in the thigh area causing tingling or numbness.
A perfectly serviceable explanation. And yes, my pants were a wee bit snug, but man, are we all painting on those skinny jeans in record numbers or have they started manufacturing pants that adhere to the wearer like a blood pressure cuff? We are wearing pants so tight that they cause nerve damage, dudes. Maybe this trend needs to go away.
And it will, just like all trends. The skinny jean has come and go over the years, and now that it's made the loop back into "cool" it'll be gone again before Christmas. Personally I'm waiting for the Triple Extreme Oversized Jeans + tiny tank top look to come back into style.
And they will, I don't doubt it, and I'll be there buying jeans with a 32" cuff as quickly as I bought those skinny jeans that made me worry if the numbness in my leg was from, you know, a serious medical problem and not just a by-product of jeans as tight as plastic wrap.
We may look ridiculous in pants so big we need two belts to keep them up, but at least we won't have freaking NERVE DAMAGE FROM PANTS.
Nerve damage from pants, dude. Is nothing sacred?

Another reason why pants are totally overrated in general. They're SILENT KILLERS.

Think about all those guys who wear skinny jeans....nerve damage to their wangs. Future generations are never going to be if guys don't take off the skinny jeans.

I see those little Emo boys in jeans so small I often wonder if they raided my 8 year old daughters closet types EVERYWHERE!! I do get a little haha moment knowing when they grow up ,they will hide their face in shame cuz they look STUPID!!!!No offspring for them as Emoweenies are squshed and the swimmers are too sad to make the future babies

I have totally had that happen, but I kind of like the numb feeling...it feels funny when I poke it. Maybe you didn't need to know that.
