Steve Jobs Secretly Has Liver Transplant, Says to Shareholders "How Do You Like Them Apples?"

Steve jobs 2 News broke Sunday that Apple CEO Steve Jobs underwent a top secret liver transplant in Tennessee two months ago.  While the source is unnamed, CNBC has confirmed the news is true.

I guess when you're an iMac Daddy like Steve Jobs you can afford to keep this kind of shocking news away from your shareholders until you release the new iPhone 3 GS.

After months of speculation that Jobs' pancreatic cancer, first diagnosed in 2004, had returned he announced a leave of absence in January citing "a hormone imbalance" for his gaunt appearance.

It's a well known fact that control-freak Jobs is the solo genius behind Apple.  So, while many of the business periodicals have spent the last six months over zealously reporting that "STEVE JOBS DOES NOT HAVE CANCER" (hope they're enjoying their free iPhones!) now that the liver transplant has been uncovered, it seems more likely that the pancreatic cancer first diagnosed in 2004 has indeed returned.

The following pictures are even more telling.

With Apple stock closing at $139.48 on Friday, shareholders are now clamoring to find out more about Jobs' prognosis, raising the question "Which is more important, Steve Jobs' privacy or full disclosure?".

While Apple refuses to comment, they did state that "Steve Jobs continues to look forward to returning at the end of June and there is nothing more to say".

Am I the only one that gets the feeling that these days Apple board meetings consist of seriously studying Weekend at Bernie's?

I hate to say it, but Steve Jobs is going to die some day. I'm not saying soon, so you may not want to sell that Apple stock yet. I just can't believe that the board at Apple hasn't demanded he train a successor. No one lives forever...unless they've developed a form of AI in which they can transfer Jobs' brain...that'd be AWESOME.

iSteve?

i would love if they were studying weekend at bernies! ha!

poor man--what a weight on a sick person's shoulders to not even be able to say he is sick? i am sure he is not the only apple employee with a creative genius. they will be ok.

I'm sure the Board at Apple has a succession plan. (Just like co-insidentally every other publicly traded company in America and beyond!) Also, as I mentioned on another blog (and got ripped a new one for) Job's health IS a private matter. There is no rule in the SEC in Sarbanes-Oxley etc that says that a CEO's health is in any way shape or form "material", just because he happens to run a publicly traded company. Therefore, it ain't nobody's business but his, how sick he may have been.

For all intents and purposes the COO was put in charge back in January or February.... And so shareholders interests are being looked after. Now if they could all stop being so nosy and paraniod, this cat could work on recovering.

It is a private matter and I hope he gets well soon.I love snark and gossip and tall tales just like anyone else,BUT it is his life and if he doesn't want to disclose his personal health then good for him.I wish him all the best...BTW,does he have anything else but the color black to wear???

It's great news for Apple that we learn Steve Jobs has been out of commission with a liver transplant the same weekend we learn new iPhone sales exceed expectations by 33-50%. Shows that Apple is headed in the right direction. Read more at http://www.ThePhoenixPrinciple.com
