This One Goes Out To... (Psst, Wanna Win A SlotRadio?)

Sandisk Oh, hey, you know you want this. Like seriously, you totally want this. Behold, the Sandisk slotRadio digital music player. It's small, it sounds great, and it comes pre-loaded with 1,000 songs, so you don't have to worry about loading just the right music on to it. All the right music is already there! GENIUS.

So you want one? For yourself, or, you know, for that someone who means so much in your life that you are willing to give up something so awesome? BECAUSE WE HAS ONE FOR YOU. All you have to do is tell us, in the comments, what song you would you choose to dedicate to the one you love (be it your significant other or dog or aloe plant -- because aloe plants need love too!) and why.

Leave your answer in the comments anytime before noon this Friday (EST) - that would be August 14th - and we'll pick a winner.

(And I promise not to tell if you decide to keep it for yourself. I know it would have to be a pretty special aloe plant if I was going to give that puppy up.)

The winner has been selected and congratulations: Bitchilla from Me Me Me

Listed below are links to weblogs that reference This One Goes Out To... (Psst, Wanna Win A SlotRadio?):

There's this song by Reba McEntire called "My Sister", and I have a twin sister, so I would dedicate it to her.

I'm Yours by Jason Mraz. I just love that song, it makes me happy and weepy and it reminds me of my husband.

I love one of Dave Matthew's new songs... "You and Me" It is uplifting and sweet and when I sing it I think of my husband, my baby and my sister...really anyone I care about.

Annie's Song by John Denver to my husband. It was the first song he sang to me when we dated and it played at our wedding. It's romantic and sappy. Just like us. (Yeah, we actually do make people gag.)

I Will Possess Your Heart, mostly cos right now I am seriously crushing on someone, and I hope to possess their heart at some point in the near future ;)

Basia's Clear HOrizon for my husband.

I have two (can I still play?) For my daughter I'm Yours because itcame on in the hospital the first time I was trying to breast feed her and from that moment I was hers and i always will be.

But for her daddy, my main squeeze, it would be the theme song to Enterprise...not just because we are bad nerds and not because we watched it hoping to get a little bit of Quantum Leap in there but because for us and for him especially we had to fight for everything we had, both by ourselves and together so the lyrics though sappy meant something to us at a very difficult time in our lives

Sharon A

Who Do You Love, the Doors version for my husband

"Fazer Eyes" by Frank Black. Everyone interprets it differently—it's about aliens, love, UFOs, et cetera—but the Husband-man used to work at a place that the conspiracy theorists claim aliens are hidden, and I love him to death, so it works. Also, who can say no to a sweet, sweet guitar solo at the end? :)

I would pick Say a Little Prayer for You. My husband and I saw My Best Friend's Wedding while we were engaged (and that was THE LAST chick flick he ever saw with me). He was totally taken with the lobster scene and since then it's been "our song". How mushy. One year I even called the oldies station on our anniversary and had it dedicated to him! We heard it in the car on the way to dinner.

Okay - um - yeah - I'm gagging.

I wanna send out "It's Oh, So Quiet," by Bjork to my husband, because that was our first dance at our wedding, almost 7 years ago. We were all waltzy, waltzy, waltzy, the POW! We went swing and craziness all over our guests collective ass! All those wedding videos with like, Baby Got Back? We had 'em beat by a couple years at least!

Kathy Scott

Margaritaville - I met my husband on a cruise and this was the song that was playing.

To my 2 boys... My Wish, by Rascal Flats. I don't even ordinarily listen to country music, but this song makes me all mommy-weepy every time!

I would dedicate the song "Amazed" by Lonestar to my husband. It's always been our song.

Chicky Chicky Baby

Sympathy for the Devil? No wait, that's the one he would send out to me.

Michelle B.

Something by Crowded House - the hubby's favorite band.

"My Best Friend" by Jellyfish to that DH o' mine...

Amy M.

"Bridge Over Troubled Water" for my 2 little ones. It got them to stop crying as infants & my 3-y-o still loves it.

SciFi Dad

"Fly Me To The Moon" by Sinatra (a.k.a. The Chairman of the Board) for my wife because it was our first dance at our wedding (and yeah, we foxtrotted to it, and yeah, we did ballroom dancing lessons for a year before that).

Aww... that's so sweet. Now I have to go punch myself.

Tracey Byram

I would dedicate the song "She Really Hates Me" to an exboyfriend. The song is self-explanatory.

Carolyn Online

Um... Six different Ways by the Cure. Because it makes me happy that's why.

No Mother Earth

I Will by The Beatles for the husband. Highly underrated Beatles song that made me fall in love with him. Can't hear it without thinking of him.

Amazed by Lonestar, thanks.

kport207 at gmail dot com

"Somebody" by Depeche Mode, for my Husband. I liked that song as an angst-y teen and it helped get me through loneliness in my 20s and it reflects some of the best parts of marriage now that I am in my 30s.

Sex On Fire - Sugarland. Because I just like it. :)

I would do anything for love - by Meatloaf. Dedicated to my brother. Because he used to tie his shirt up around his chest and sing the girl part to make me laugh when we were kids.

"Come On Get Higher" Matt Nathanson. Such a romantic song, makes me want to plant a big ol' kiss on Kevin every time I hear it. ;o)

I would dedicate Chris LeDoux's entire album "Songs of Rodeo Life" to my husband who just retired after competing in rodeos for 20+ years. He really misses it & sings songs from this album all the time. The body may be too old for rodeo, but the heart isn't.

amy B

I'll stand by you.
The Pretenders.

I have been singing that song to my daughter since she was a baby. She turned 16 this past Feb and I still sing it to her.

Dixie Chick's "Lullaby" to my daughter. Been singing it to her since she was a baby.

I went to a wedding recently and...well...the vows concerned me. So I would dedicate "Master and Servant," by Depeche Mode, to the couple.

Nobody Knows Me Like my Baby to my husband because, well... Really it's quite self-explanatory.

Sex Bomb by Tom Jones I dedicate to my husband. Because, what is sexier than that? "This bombs made for lovin and you can shoot it far"...etc.

The reason for this selection is because this song is HILARIOUS and it always makes us laugh. It may or may not also lead to me dancing around the room dotted with lewd gestures and air humping.

Plus - we are trying to have another baby and who doesn't need some motivational music now and then? "Baby. please. I am not from Havana!"

I would dedicate "Halo" by Beyonce. I know it's cheesy but I love that song and I am his angel and his saving grace. That song was so written for me!

c l

Leave out all the rest - Linkin Park. I love that song - would dedicate to my family.

"Mirabeau Bridge," James Keelaghan, to my sisters and brother. One of the few happy songs that I really like. Also, "When I Was a Boy," Dar Williams, to my brother, because it's hard being a girl, but sometimes I think it's even harder being a boy.

Deb K

I would dedicate You'll Never Walk Alone - Rodgers and Hammerstein~That is such a beautiful song :)

"Eye of the Tiger" for my boyfriend Andrew. He's running his first marathon in October and I think he'd appreciate a get pumped mix!

Jeff Buckley's "Lover, You Should've Come Over". My heart is a few hundred miles away.

Leather and Lace by Stevie Nicks/Don Henley. I dedicate it to P. cause when he walked into my house he knew he'd never want to leave.

Erin W

dire straits, romeo and juliet, to my husband because its just a kick ass song.

She's Your Cocaine by Tori Amos, because everyone has been addicted to a person like that before.

At least once every summer, my husband and I stop whatever we are doing and dance to "Sweetest Decline" by Beth Orton.

However, since we never had a wedding reception, eloping to Vegas precludes such silly events, I'd dedicate "At Last" by Etta James to him. I've always wanted to dance to that song, but we've never had the opportunity.

Diane Baum

Annie's song by John Denve is very special

Kim H.

Miss Murder to my cat.

"Somewhere" by Celtic Women or the original Barbara Streisand version, to him because obstacles keep us from being together right here, right now.

I would dedicate Wind Beneath My Wings to my Husband. Thanks so much.

Can't Help Falling in Love With You - the Elvis version! My husband and I danced to it for the first dance at our wedding. Our 12 year anniversary is on August 30th - what a great anniversary present for him/us!

adrienne gordon

useless to my husband

I would use I'm Not Strong Enough To Say No to a friend of mine.

Billy Joel's Just the Way You Are. (I don't want clever conversation. I never want to work that har - ar - ar - ard...)

Beyonce's "Single Ladies" to the ex-boyfriend. Because after 5 1/2 years, he should have put a ring on it, and since he didn't, I am now a happy single lady!

Joanne Schultz

"All My Loving" by The Beatles - I'd dedicated to my cat, unfortunately deceased though he is.

Thanks for the giveaway!

Heather Nova's London Rain for my husband. I'd love to win this!

Mountainside by the Flaming Lips. Because, hey, these are the most romantic lyrics ever:

And I hold your electric toaster while
Standin' in your bathtub of love
And I'm flyin' through your mountainside
Dyin' in your plane crash of love

Plus the song rocks: hard.

The gay fish song. Because my man likes fishsticks.

Mr. William Joel's "The Longest Time" to my fiance, because that's how long it took us to find each other in life.

Sorry - gotta correct. "Somewhere" is originally from Westside Story. ;)

Good luck - hope the obstacles get out of your way soon!

Stacy Dunning

I would dedicate "We Are Family" to my mom & sister-my 2 best friends!

I would dedicate "Friday I'm in Love" by the Cure to my hubby. It was the song that got the dancing started at our wedding after all the dance with specific people dances. :)

Never Saw Blue Like That by Shawn Colvin for my daughter who has the most amazing blue eyes. She is the light of my life.

ambrosias the biggest part of me to my hubby

Michelle Simons

"You look so good in Love" George Straits song, to my ex cause I am happy he is in love with someone new now. Thank you.

Jill Myrick

My song would be "Melt" by Rascal Flatts and I would dedicate it to my wonderful husband.
Thank you so much for the chance to win.

Going straight for the cheese (but the good kind) with Ben Folds and 'The Luckiest' because it was our first dance at our wedding.

denice p

Rush- Depeche Mode.

it's like tortured dark lovely love. this is the song for my husband. he knows. it's that dark piece of love that drives me nuts to be in love with him.

sign me up

I'm another vote for Dave Matthews Band You and Me. My huband, kids, and I have been listening a lot to the new CD and this song suits us so I would dedicate it to my three favorite boys.

"Feels Like Home" by Chantal Kreviazuk for my husband.

It was our wedding song, and though we weren't able to have our first dance at our wedding, we've more than made up for it by dancing to it several times throughout the year, and most recently on our first anniversary.

Thank you for the chance.

Strange Condition by Pete Yorn because the song is the most beautiful song i've heard

Daddy's Hands for me because I miss my dad,he's been gone 19 years now. jelly15301@gmail.com

heather s

Amazed by Lonestar to my friend

A Whole New World from the Aladdin Soundtrack. Yes, the Disney movie. It was the song I wanted to be our first dance at our weddig but I let a wedding planner talk me out of it and I ahve always regretted it. If my hubby heardit he would now right away that it was "our" song!

david basile

pink good music

Social Distortion's "Let It Be Me." I recently crossed paths with a boy who was "the one" years ago. I would never do anything to change my life now with my husband and son, but this song will always remind me of being that teenage punk rock girl with that teenage punk rock boy...

Whitney Houston's "I will always love you" is especially for my husband!

Vicky H.

I'd dedicate "High School Never Ends" by Bowling For Soup to my best friends. It's been six years since three of us have graduated (five for one of them and seven for the other), and it's like we haven't grown up at all. LoL.

Your My Everything by Barry White for my pets.

Fawn Amber

Mine would be "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts, for my son, Brendan. Earlier this year, my teenage daughter decided she wanted to live with her father and after a long and ugly court battle, she got what she wanted. The judge, in his infinite wisdom, did not want to separate my kids and so my 12 year old son has to go live with him too - over two hours away from his mom, his friends, and the only life he has ever known, and it breaks my heart every single day. All I can do is remind him every day that I love him and wish he was with me and the words to that song, I think, would help him to know that.
And now I will cry again. But hey, it's a good idea, right?

mike anderson

It's got to be Freebird by Skynard.

To my husband, I would dedicate Frank Zappa's "Love of my Life". Chris wanted it for our wedding dance but I convinced him to go with another song that is so embarrassing, I can't even tell you what it is.

Carolyn Nedrow

Could I Have This Kiss Forever for my honey!
cjnedrow at gmail.com

kerry ryan

To my wonderful hubby I would dedicate a song by Alicia Keys called Butterflies, because after 10 years he still gives me "butterflies" ;-)

Cassandra Staib

Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison to my 15-month-old daughter, Violet.

Hummm...I would dedicate the song "dark side of the moon" to my boyfriend... ahh, the memories :)
