Edie Falco as Nurse Jackie Returns for Season Two: "Quiet and Mean, Those Are My People."

Nurse_jackie_poster If you're lucky enough to have seen Season One of Nurse Jackie, you already know the show has a colorful cast of characters and the plot-line is out-of-this-world fabulous.  Well kids, Season Two is on the way and it's not too late to jump on board now. Let me catch you up.

Three time Emmy winner Edie Falco plays Jackie, a drug-addicted nurse married to a bar owner, and the couple has two daughters.  On the side, she has been screwing the hospital pharmacist, Eddie, for the last year.  He has no idea she is married and during Season One, he accidentally finds out she 'has a kid.'

Never mind the stress of juggling her marriage, her kids, one of which seems to have an anxiety disorder, her affair, her job. Jackie also has a new student nurse to train (Zoey), a needy best friend doctor (Dr. O'Hara) she works with, another doctor that is so inept and vain he drives her crazy (Coop), and the revolving door of patients that all come with their own problems.

When we last left Jackie, Eddie followed her after work to discover the husband and kids all at once.  He then spends the next morning getting drunk at said bar (but does not divulge his relationship with Jackie to her husband, surprisingly).  He then shows up at the hospital, drunk, dejected both by her and the administration, as the hospital had just replaced him with an electronic drug dispensing machine, and whispers in her ear, "That's a nice bar you've got there."

The cast and the dialogue truly make this series compelling and I cannot tell you how freaking excited I am for March 22nd when Season Two begins, followed by United States of Tara!  I've cried, I've laughed (a lot), I've gasped.  Nurse Jackie is SO much fun.

Here's a sneak peek of Season Two:

Now if you're really hot and bothered about this show, like I am, please enjoy these two clips of Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr. Fitch "Coop" Cooper (the incompetent/vapid junior doctor) set loose with a flip cam while shooting (Edie @ 3:45 and in the lunch line = comedy gold): and even more, because I love you and stuff:

. . . . .
Karen Sugarpants would marry Showtime if it was available.

Edie Falco is awesome. Sopranos, Oz, some other movie that was okay, ummm.... Freedomland, I think. But she was awesome in it. Now I'm going to have to watch it. And I really don't have time.

Why do you hate me?
