Kourtney Kardashian Did Not Lose All the Baby Weight Overnight. IMAGINE THAT.

KOURTNEY-KARDASHIAN-OKSo tabloid magazines photoshop celebrity cover pictures, did you know this? I mean, I for one am falling over from the shock of that news flash, my god. So no one (not a soul) is actually shocked to hear the news that OK! Magazine photoshopped (to hell and back) a photo of Kourtney Kardashian post-baby on a recent cover. But just because it's the least shocking thing I've heard all week doesn't make it any less uncool or creepy or  downright ridiculous, either.

Kourtney is coming out to vocally declare that's not her body on a recent cover of the magazine, the cover that's attached to the cover story all about HER DIET SECRETS! and HER FITNESS PLAN THAT WILL WORK FOR YOU TOO! (Except don't look here for the actual results of her fitness plan unless you plan to go through life as an airbrushed cover image.)

Here's a side-by-side photo with the actual, before-the-computer-got-hold-of-her picture on the left:

KOURTNEY-KARDASHIAN-OK2

First, she looks great for just having a baby. She just does. Why the hell can't we celebrate THAT fact and not the fact that OK! has an ambitious Photoshop user on their staff? Also, that Kardashian family is a (lovely) curvy bunch, so she shouldn't look like Gwyneth Paltrow post-baby and why on earth does OK! Magazine think we're all just going to forget how she looked pre-baby?

Next, hey, we get you're trying to sell some magazines and pretty people help do that, but are you really going to drastically alter a picture that you're attaching to a weight-loss success story? My god, that's so annoying. It's annoying when celebrities actually lose all their baby weight in six weeks flat, but it's ESPECIALLY annoying when celebrities don't lose all their baby weight in six weeks flat but we're still told they did and we should too!

Kourtney came out (on Twitter, where all good official celebrity statements are made) and said, "One of those weeklies got it wrong again...they didn't have an exclusive with me. And I gained 40 pounds while pregs, not 26...But thanks!"

So, now I think I like Kourtney Kardashian, which is just as shocking as hearing OK! Magazine abuses Photoshop.

It's a bad photoshop job, too. You can tell that her right hand is resting against her body, and in the photoshopped version, there is just weird space below the baby.

sigh. Agreed with the liking Kourtney.

rebecca

ugg... and is it me, or did they change the skin color, too?

jezebel did an article on the most horrendous photoshopping of the aughts...these people have no soul. :)

mommaruthsays

I loke Kourtney - she's by far the least annoying, even with that ridiculously drawn-out way she speaks.

After she came out and talked openly about considering abortion and why it wasn't for her, I have nothing but respect for this gal. She's been honest and real about everything throughout her pregnancy, even if the weeklies do their best to turn her into something fake.

I say, 'Go Kourtney'!

beckster

Geez... I still haven't lost my baby weight either... and the baby is 10-and-a-half.

Issa

I think I may have to like her a bit for admitting that. Of course if someone could explain to me why we even know her name, that'd be lovely as well.

Mary

As annoying as the Kardashians can be, (and really, who among us ISN'T annoying) I loudly applaude them for coming out and talking about the fact that they aren't perfect and don't have perfect bodies. First Kim did it with the cellulite story, and now Kourtney. Bravo, ladies. "Real" women thank you.

Cristin

Like the others, I can't believe it but I must applaud Kourtney for pointing out the difference. And the thing is: she looks great, regardless!

JAR

Dude, I think they photoshopped the baby. I'd have to unleash the fury of the baby mama on that one. We all know our children are perfect when they're born... right? Why change the baby's picture??

JellyBean

Yes, they did lighten her skin. Plus straightened her part b/c that is so gd important. Also gave her more lush, fuller hair.

Katie Kat

Good God... I couldn't give a flip about the Kardashians, but good for her for calling them on it. She should sue them as well! Isn't that false advertising or something?

funda62

Good on her for pointing it out. Now if we could all just accept that women gain weight when pregnant and DON'T normally come out in the jeans they were to high school graduation we'll all be better off.
