Who's In The Running Towards Becoming America's Next Top Spiderman?

Spiderman1  Two very different young stars are being considered:

With Tobery Maguire and Sam Raimi—the principal actor and director, respectively, of the first three Spiderman movies—moving on, the Spiderman franchise needs a new Peter Parker. Some of the actors rumored to be in the running include Robert Pattinson and Michael Cera. Talk about different:

Robert Pattinson:

Personally, my vote is for Michael Cera. I like my Peter Parker geeky, an unlikely superhero. That's why Tobey worked for me in the first two movies. I haven't seen the third, but I read something along the lines of it being a cinematic anal douching. I haven't had one of those, but I have a vivid imagination.

Michael Cera--THAT would be the Spiderman movie I'd line up to see. Saw "Youth in Revolt" last night--he's great.

Wendi

I'd love to see Michael Cera as Spiderman, but I think if he had to bulk up like Toby did, that might ruin him for me - maybe they could do CGI muscles.

Jessi

Love Cera and on the one hand, I hope he gets it. I too like my Peter Parker geeky. Plus, he's just excellent in everything he does. On the other hand, I love the work he chooses and I hope that he isn't swayed by big budget to do something crappy.

I can't see RPattz as Spidey, but I really think Michael Cera only has one character that he actually plays: variations on George Michael Bluth. Blurgh.
