Two New Superhero Shows This Fall

Summer-Glau-at-Wondercon It's going to be the fall of Heroes. Without, you know, that show called Heroes. Instead we'll have these two shows:

NBC gives us The Cape. It stars David Lyons from ER as a good cop in a corrupt dept. Framed for murder he ends up taking on the secret ID of The Cape and fighting crime.  It also stars Summer Glau as… well as a blogger. Kind of his information guru.

I suppose if he has to fight Wordpress he's set.  Anyway the full trailer for The Cape is below:

ABC will be giving us No Ordinary Family starring Michael Chikis of The Shield, as the father of a family of four who get super powers. It's a bit like the Incredibles, and Fantastic Four, but still, it looks to be interesting. At the very least it is also seemingly far more light-hearted than The Cape or Heroes was, and that can be a great thing. It will air on Tuesdays at 8.

Here's the first trailer for No Ordinary Family:

So which show looks better to you, if either? What do you think their chances are, going forward? And really - will you watch either of them?

Sofia

I didn't even bother watching The Cape trailer, 'cause the name just sounds silly, as does the image on the video window, but I looved the trailer for No Ordinary Family. Definitely gonna be checking that show out :D

Yeah The Cape sounds silly but the trailer... it could be good. But No Ordinary Family makes me happy.

SciFi Dad

Given the sucking chest wound that is network science fiction after the cancellations and series finales (Fringe being the lone survivor), I'll watch both. I'm actually looking forward to seeing The Cape more than No Ordinary Family, although it (NOF) has a stronger cast.

Adam P. Knave

Yeah see as a huge Shield fan, I admit to being biased toward No Ordinary Family, but I will watch Cape as well. Because I will. That's why.

I used to love the Shield, but I was so young when it was on. I'll definitely catch No Ordinary Family. And a show that features a blogger? I might have to give it a try, just out of morbid curiosity.

Adam P. Knave

Shield only ended last year? After 7 seasons. Don't make me feel ancient.

Jen O.

Wait!!! I suck ass!!! I didn't mean to say "The Shield". I mean to say "The Commish". God, I suck.

Adam P. Knave

Ahh yes, he was good in that as well, but The Shield was sooo much better.

I think I'll check them both out - the character of The Cape looks pretty bad-ass, and I love Julie Benz. Michael Chiklis isn't so bad either. :-)

Adam P. Knave

Hah it's true!
