Lost Epilogue: The New Man in Charge

Lost-complete-collection-dvd  Okay, first let me just put this out there and get the rotten-vegetable pelting out of the way: I enjoyed the final episode of Lost and have only very minor quibbles with how they chose to end the series. I realize I am in the minority here. But I was in with the majority of people who hated how the The Sopranos ended at the time, but now realize that the cut-to-black finale was completely fucking brilliant and so this time maybe I'm just trying to make it easier on myself and skip the whole change-of-heart process because it's kind of tiring.

ANYWAY.

We all knew, or at least assumed, that the upcoming DVD release of Lost's final season and complete series box set would probably include a few more Very Special Extras. Of COURSE the producers would offer us poor saps a few more "answers," provided we proved our worthiness by shelling out the cash for the DVDs.

Details are out now about The Big One: an 11-minute epilogue about Hurley's time on the island as the New Jacob, with Ben Linus as his second-in-command. It's called "The New Man in Charge," and it will definitely appear on the Lost: Complete Collection set. Not sure if it will be included on the stand-alone season six DVD set, like HA HA HA SUCKERS who have been faithfully buying the seasons one by one all this time. That seems especially evil, though, even by Lost fuckery standards.

Both DVD sets will be available August 24. You can preorder them now, unless you plan to wait until the short gets leaked on YouTube or something. Which it will. Or you could preorder a set as a present to your most-favorite blogger. Which you will. (Insert mysterious mind-controlly finger-wagging ooooooohhhhhh)

Miss Banshee

I loved the ending, and I'll say it publicly. It will be saved on my DVR forevah.

Another lovah of the finale. Thought it was brilliant.

I loved the finale too. Absolutely amazing. I've held out on buying the DVD's on purpose (I have been SO tempted many times, but have held strong), so that I could splurge and buy the entire series all at once. I.cannot.WAIT!!

Lynne

Ditto - I loved it too.

I am one of the losers who bought each season as it came out on DVD. There better be something good with the season 6 DVD!

I really liked the finale but am worried about re-watching the series because I think they may have left one or two too many holes. We waited and waited and waited to buy the seasons...until right after 5's finale and we were all FUCK IT, NEED MOAR LOST NAO. Now we're trying to sell off our seasons so we can buy the box set just a little over a year later because? Well, most likely because we're idiots. I'm gonna call it super geeked fandom though. Sounds much cooler.

Loved the finale. I have my quibbles but in the overall scheme of things I'm going to consider them minor. I will totally pour money into whatever post finale nuggets of info they are offering up like a big SUCKER.
