MamaPop Video Roundtable: Eaten By A Grue Edition

SpaceinvadersOur generation (the ones who sat around in the '80s thinking Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark was a cool name band) was probably the first to grow up with video games.  Cradle to grave, pixels and polygons will blip after us, demanding our dollars and keeping us from hitting that next level.  Which we will totally get to.  And then we'll take out the garbage, honest.

What's your favourite video game?  Do you let your kids play them? Let us know in the comments!

Don't forget: if you have a burning, burning, burning question for MamaPop's authors, one that you need to see answered in video form, you have only to ask. Submit your questions to palinode@mamapop.com.  If you're feeling ambitious, upload your question to YouTube and we'll put you in the video.

Pullemundie! I am still chuckling over that hilariously unfortunate name. I was addicted to Tetris, as well, Jen. I stopped playing when I kept seeing Tetris pieces falling down the sidebars in books while I was trying to read.

p.s. Damn, Sarah Lena looks good for an 85 year old man!

Yeah, Pulimundi was a really bad name. I don't think a day passed when I wasn't chased by someone chanting "Pull My Undies". It's amazing how often I still think of World of Warcraft. I can't wait until my kids enjoy video games. I miss them.

Oh I loved this.

I was Queen of Atari in the 80's - Frogger, Pacman, Pitfall, Space Invaders.

Once I hired out a PS2 disc of them all, showed my boys, and they all fell about laughing at the games in "the olden days."

Turds.

@edenland - It's kind of bewildering to think of Space Invaders and then look at Call of Duty 4 or Grand Theft Auto. It makes me feel all old and cranky.

Katie L.

I had a Legend of Zelda addiction, circa 1985-ish. We had Intelevision as opposed to Atari, prior to Nintendo, so I played a lot of Lock and Chase which was basically pacman with police instead of the little yellow guy.
