Even Eminem Thinks Ben Roethlisberger is Despicable

Eminem-picture One time I saw an interview with Dave Grohl and he was saying that when Weird Al Yankovic released "Smells Like Nirvana" that it was the moment when the Nirvana realized that they had made it.

I seriously doubt that Ben Roethlisberger feels the same way about being mentioned in Eminem's new song "Despicable".

M.I.A. Releases Graphic, Explicit 'Born Free' Video (NSFW)

MIA MIA released her new video for 'Born Free' on her website Monday and typical for the wonderfully unconventional artist, this video is in-your-face politics.  On the political nature of her work she has said, "I have to be true to that--I can't take certain things away. I do have a political background. I’m only in England, learning this language and building a life in this society, because of political reasons. Why would I deny that?" M.I.A. has also talked at length about the fusion of politics into her music. "Nobody wants to be dancing to political songs. Every bit of music out there that’s making it into the mainstream is really about nothing. I wanted to see if I could write songs about something important and make it sound like nothing. And it kind of worked."

Top-Played Songs of the '00s Paints a Bleak Musical Picture

Staind  Most people I know sort of shrug their shoulders about popular music. Some of it is okay, very little of it is really good, most of it is lowest-common-denominator crap deemed fit for human consumption, like so much Grade D beef. A necessary evil of sorts.

Dear Hip-Hop: No Mo' No Homo, Plz

Kanye_pink As an unapologetic feminist, I have a love-hate relationship with hip-hop. While I love a great deal of both mainstream and underground hip-hop, I am often uncomfortable with the violent, misogynistic and homophobic themes in some (though not all) of the music I listen to.

Spike Jonze Slaps Kanye West

Kanye_west_spike_jonze Well, not really, but in a viral promotion video for a short film collaboration between the two, Jonze answers the eternal question that Rick James reportedly posed to Charlie Murphy one night, long ago, in the China Club.
