SyFy Challenges Viewers to Create Their Own Movie

Syfy-logo You guys. This is it. This is our big chance. Last night, DinoShark appeared before me, awash in heavenly light, and said, "Raaaahhh!" And because I operate on a higher plane of existence, one where DinoShark and I dish, I knew that that meant, "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their made-for-TV cinema!"

Ralph Macchio is Waxing On in New Viral Video

Ralph-Macchio-Karate-Kid Have you seen the new The Karate Kid with Jaden Smith? I haven't. I've heard it's good, but to me Ralph 'Babyface' Macchio will always be THE Karate Kid. I love my 80s icons, that's why I was so happy to see that one of latest Funny or Die videos stars my former teen heart-throb in Wax On, F*ck Off.

Top Ten Reasons Why I Should Be MTV'S New Twitter Jockey (or as Many as I Can Think of Until I Run Out.)

Mtv-original-vjs Do you want to be the modern day, virtual equivalent of Martha Quinn?

Do you know who Martha Quinn is?

Never mind. Proving that it is solidly on the social media tip, MTV is holding a competition to choose a Twitter Jockey - a TJ, if you will.

$#*! My Dad Says Trailer May Ease Some Fears

Shit-my-dad-says$#*! My Dad Says, which is apparently pronounced "Bleep My Dad Says," the sitcom based on the wildly popular and hilarious Twitter account (typing that sentence still makes my brain hurt) is slated to premier this fall. Fans of the Twitter account are still uneasy about the network TV adaptation, but perhaps the recently released trailer will put their minds at ease a little.

Baby Sloths to Brighten Your Day

Baby-sloth I'm calling it now: by the end of 2010, sloths will have taken the reigns of the internet away from cats. Or, okay, maybe by the end of 2011. Or 2012. Or whenever they manage to get up and make it over there to the cats.

A Double Serving of Serving Done Right!

PattonoswaltPlagiarism is infuriating, especially for writers who spend hour upon hour honing each word, each sentence, to fit just so.  It makes sense, but it turns out it's equally as infuriating for comedians who have been plagiarized, as the recent Patton Oswalt incident illustrates.  And because Oswalt is a comedian and hilarious even when he's not on stage, he calls out his hacker publicly and with a lesson to the young plagiarist: if you're not funny to begin with, stealing won't help.

Kids Do The Hills Better Than The Hills Does The Hills

The-Hills-2010 So I watch The Hills.  SO WHAT?  It's not like I'm proud of it or anything.  It's not like I like the show so much that I followed one of it's spawn across the country and now also watch them every week in The City.  SO WHAT if I did?  It's for research, is what it is.  Yes.  And this research has shown me that The Hills is a really, really stupid show.

I'm Sorry to Break It to You, But You Can't Buy Dr. Jack Kevorkian's Death Van on eBay Anymore

Dr. Jack KevorkianThere are a few disappointed eBay consumers this week after the vehicle they were trying to buy was pulled from auction on Monday. Apparently, if you own one of the vans in which Dr. Jack Kevorkian performed any of his claimed minimum of 130 illegal assisted suicides and try to sell it on eBay, eBay has a policy against the sale of "murderabilia" and will de-list your auction.

Damn. And I so always wanted a death van.

Corey Feldman Says Goodbye to Corey Haim On His Blog and Breaks This 80s Kid's Heart Even More

Feldman_haimCorey Haim's funeral took place in Toronto yesterday after his completely unfair and untimely and unjust death due to a prescription drug overdose, and, out of respect for Haim's "...mother and her wishes to minimize the media attention as much as possible", Corey Feldman chose not to attend.

When one brother-of-the-heart cannot go to another brother-of-the-heart's funeral because of media attention, that's when fame really and truly sucks big, hairy elephant balls.

John Mayer Doesn't Know When to Shut Up

John-mayer John Mayer just did a pretty personal interview (as far as Hollywood interviews go) for Rolling Stone where he talked about masturbating and Jennifer Aniston, not in the same sentence but fairly close together. I thought, "Well, hope he got all that out in the open and goes back to just tweeting his stupid thoughts." Apparently not. He has since done an interview with Playboy where he he goes on and on and on about things he perhaps should not be going on and on and on about.
