Michael Jackson -- One Year Later

Michael-jackson  One year ago today I was sitting in a terrible college summer dinner theater performance, killing my iPhone battery from relentless under-the-table Googling and scrolling through a deluge of "Michael Jackson is dead" updates on Tweetie.

My mind was blown. It was a weird day. Farrah died. Michael died. Scroll scroll scroll.

Tupac and R.E.M. are Officially History

Tupac-afeni-shakur  You may know you're getting up in years when the music that had a major impact on your generation and your own little life is deemed historically significant.

That's what the Library of Congress is saying about Tupac and R.E.M. So thanks, Library of Congress. Because you know this is really all about my mortality.

GIVEAWAY AHOY! Win Free Bon Jovi Tickets!

Picture 11The first concert I ever saw live was Bon Jovi and Cinderella at the Bayfront Center in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1987. At that point in my life it was by far the coolest thing I had ever seen. I knew then that I could die happy.

Gaga Overload Making Me Gag Gag

Lady-gaga-finger  Remember when you had that friend in high school that you really adored, so you spent every waking second together? Eventually, you spent so much with her that you got sick of each other and, before you knew it, you had the uncontrollable urge to throw your best friend in the whole world through a plate glass window, am I right? Well, I'm starting to feel that way about Lady Gaga.

From The Bad Moms Club: Death Metal Arts and Crafts

Crayons-150x150  Okay, I know I'm not a "normal" or "regular" person, but I found this European commercial hilarious, and so did the Bad Moms Club, even though they're loathe to admit it. *wink*

Revisiting June 1991

Sonic1-eu-front Ah, June - the month when the schools close forcing me to take care of my own children ALL. DAY. LONG.

*hyperventilates*

June is also the month where I go to buy my husband a father's day card only to be inundated with graduation cards reminding me that I graduated from high school almost 20 years ago. True story. I graduated from high school 19 years ago in good old 1991. Remember 1991?

Sean_Hayes Last week newspapers, television, and pop culture at large was all up in arms over Ramin Setoodeh's opinion that openly gay Sean Hayes should not be playing a straight man in the new Broadway musical Promises, Promises. I saw the show this weekend. He's wrong.

Even Eminem Thinks Ben Roethlisberger is Despicable

Eminem-picture One time I saw an interview with Dave Grohl and he was saying that when Weird Al Yankovic released "Smells Like Nirvana" that it was the moment when the Nirvana realized that they had made it.

I seriously doubt that Ben Roethlisberger feels the same way about being mentioned in Eminem's new song "Despicable".
