What Will Be The Next Movie Based On A Musical Based on a Movie?

Footloose  When Hollywood produced the movie version of the musical version of the Mel Brooks classic The Producers (a movie about a failed Broadway musical, to make things even more meta), it sounded to me like something from The Onion reflecting on the lack of original ideas in recent years, both on stage and on film. But it was for real, and was then followed by the film adaptation of the musical adaptation of the John Waters film Hairspray. And now Hollywood is doing it again, with Footloose, slated for a 2011 release. With no end in sight to the phenomenon, I have to wonder—what will be the next blockbuster film adaptation of a musical ripped off from Hollywood?

Joe-Jackson Cirque du Soliel has signed a deal to take Michael Jackson's songs and dance moves, freak them up a bit, and turn the whole she-bang into a travelling circus and Las Vegas show.

Alan Cumming Ditches Spider-Man

Alan Cumming Not in Spider-Man musical smiling with beard No matter what else may be true abut Marvel Comics, this one hard truth seems to be rock solid: The Spider-Man musical is so consumed by back and forth, up and down, trouble that no amount of witty puns will ever free it of its tangled web. Axl Rose Pelted With Water Bottle During Concert: I Think That's Great

1Axlsitting

During a show in San Paolo, Brazil, one lucky fan was given the opportunity to not only throw something at, but actually hit Axl Rose in the midsection with a water bottle while he was perf... perf... making noise with his face. He's Rose. And Rose sucks.
