Fellow True Blood / Sookie Stackhouse fans, picture this, for a moment: The part of Debbie Pelt, the psychopathic batshit crazy wereanimal ex of Alcide, being played by the always awesometastic Katee Sackhoff. Starbuck the Shape-Shifter, if you will. Isn't that just perfection? Doesn't the mere thought of that casting decision make you feel all warm in the naughty bits?
WELL TOO BAD. SHE TURNED THE PART DOWN.
Ok, it seems that Timothy Olyphant is making tremendous headway in his bid to make me gay (not that there's anything wrong with that). At this point, I'm pretty much only man-sex away from completing the transformation.
Make no mistake about it, Olyphant is electrifying as Marshall Raylan Givens and continues to impress with his cool demeanor and tight-fitting jeans. (Forget I said that last part... must... fight... the gayness...)
We're four episodes in and after what I felt was a rather disappointing installment last week, Timothy Olyphant and crew brought it home this week with an extremely entertaining show. There were at least three parts where I laughed out loud and I may have even been sober. I can't remember, probably not. It's okay, though. I remember enough to tell you the awesome parts.
Wherein Stacy and Palinode shoot the shit about Breaking Bad. Shoot the meth would be a better pun, but our moms read this. And I don't want her knowing about my meth problem.
This week: Walt attempts to leave the drug business behind and reunite his family. Jesse leaves rehab and totally p3wns his parents. Hank is totally clueless. Skyler faces perfidy and corruption at home and work. The silent guys from Mexico with skull-capped boots arrive in Albuquerque. They have an axe.
If you haven't seen Justified with Timothy Olyphant, I am just going to go ahead and ask you to put your remote down. You're not using it right. You heard me. Just set it on the coffee table, back away slowly and listen closely to everything I am about to say. There still may be time for you.
Rarely does a show live up to the hype, but I'm telling you right now, Justified is delivering on its lofty expectations.
